Firefox: Just do that
2005年 11月 30日
Well. Come to think of... there is no better web browsers out there like Firefox. I don't mean to put it in the shrine or bless it as in the throne of the beloved. But there is no reasons for anybody to stick to slow, unreliable, and troublesome IE.
This is the very day to celebrate a new beginning for Firefox since its newest version, Firefox 1.5, has just released today. Mozilla Corp., the creator of Firefox, announced that they will release a new version within a year (possibly it would be 6 months from now) They even mentioned that the upgrade of the version would be as frequent as 6 month long. So, every 6 month, they will release the newer version. Considering that IE hasn't upgraded from the latest version for almost 4 years (except a few minor changes. critical updates, and security updates), Firefox has been more keen to provide the needs of users.
Well, the frequent upgrade is not the one which Firefox satisfy the needs of the users. It has a remarkably unique feature called "Extension". With "Extension"s, Firefox could expand its usabilities based on the preference of the users. The followings are some of the examples from "Extension"s you could never experience in IE.
Besides to the "Extension", Firefox has another feature which IE has never brought to you: "Tab browsing". If this doesn't ring the bell, maybe this is not the thing you want. But I found this was more user-friendly. Whenever I opened IE, I ended up opening so many windows and the taskbar was full of the items. It's just hard to figure out which window were the one I was looking at just a couple of minutes ago. (Doh... cannot tell which is which, either...)
So, taking all the above, Firefox is the better, time-saving, reliable web browser available today. It's free, of course. It's even faster to display the web sites. Why do we still stick to IE, anyway?
I'm sorry that this looks totally the advertisement for Firefox. But you won't spend a dime on that. Well, maybe you will spend less time for browsing!

1) Adblock --> Simple but most effective tool for blocking annoying popups and some offensive advertisements on the websites.
2) ForecastFox --> Customerizable weather ticker in the bottom of the window. This will enable Firefox to show the weather of your neighbourhood.
3) ESPN BottomLine --> Top news covering all the major sports in ticker at the bottom of Firefox. Just like the one you see on the TV, the ticker will appear to the bottom of your Firefox.
